Before You Scroll, Watch This! – Who is Montina Galloway What is Her Mission

Let’s be real. You’ve probably seen hundreds of speakers talk about burnout, wellness, or leadership. But here’s what sets me apart—I don’t just talk about the pain Black women carry. I help them put it down.

I’m Montina Myers-Galloway—licensed therapist, qualified clinical supervisor, national certified counselor, mental health consultant, speaker, and advocate for Black women who are ready to stop surviving and start reclaiming their power.

But most people don’t know this started with one quiet truth: We are not Teflon. We’re human.

Black women have been expected to be strong for so long that society—and even our own families—forget we need support, too.

Why I Do This Work

For nearly a decade, I’ve worked with hundreds of Black women and families —helping them break the cycle of over-responsibility, toxic caregiving, and emotional burnout. This work is personal. It’s not just what I do—it’s what I’m called to do.

Whether I’m speaking on stage, consulting with organizations, or sitting across from a client in therapy, my mission remains the same: To help Black women be seen, heard, and supported—not just strong.

What I Want You to Know

So many of us were raised in households where emotions were ignored, boundaries were blurred, and the only way to survive was to over-function. We became caregivers before we could fully be children.

Now we’re professionals, leaders, mothers—and still carrying that weight (and then some).

Let me be clear:
🛑 You don’t have to prove your worth through exhaustion.
🧠 Mental health is not a luxury—it’s essential.
💬 Vulnerability isn’t weakness—it’s where the healing happens.

What I Teach (and Live) in My Work

Through The Responsible One newsletter, keynote speaking, and consulting, I help women and organizations learn how to:

  • Identify hidden emotional labor

  • Understand the long-term impact of parentification

  • Set boundaries without guilt

  • Normalize vulnerability in leadership

  • Create trauma-informed, emotionally safe workplaces

  • Heal generational wounds by shifting legacy

If You’ve Ever Thought “She’s Got It”—Pause

Because many of us are barely holding it together. Behind the polished exterior is often anxiety, isolation, grief, and a lifelong habit of suppressing emotions to make others comfortable.

Here’s what I tell every audience, every client, and every Black woman I speak to:
✨ It’s time to put the duffel bag down.
✨ Go through what’s yours—and release what isn’t.
✨ You don’t have to carry it all anymore.

This Work Is Bigger Than Me

It’s not just about helping individuals heal. It’s about:

🖤 Transforming systems
🖤 Training leaders
🖤 Shifting culture
🖤 Building spaces where Black women don’t just survive—they thrive

Because we’re done shrinking. We’re done silencing ourselves. And we’re done doing all the emotional labor for free.

Let’s Build Something That Lasts

If you’re planning an event, leading an organization, or building a community—this is your invitation to bring real conversation to the room. No fluff. Just truth, healing, and legacy shifting.
